Exciting News – MCS Certification & Heat Pump Grants!

Safesure Plumbing and Heating Ltd is pleased to announce that we are now fully MCS accredited. This means we can offer our customers access to the MCS Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant of £7,500 towards a new heat pump installation, subject to eligibility and approval.

Achieving MCS certification has been a key goal for us, ensuring we can correctly design, size, and install heat pump systems to the highest standards. In addition, we have attained Heat Geek Advanced Accreditation, a specialist training certification that deepens our expertise in the supply, design, installation, and servicing of air source heat pumps.

It is essential to ensure that a heat pump is correctly sized for the property and that all radiators are suitable for effectively heating the building. This involves considering factors such as the building’s size, construction, windows, loft insulation, cavity wall insulation, and various other elements to ensure the system is perfectly specified. Failure to properly design and size the system can lead to high running costs, inefficient operation, and potentially leaving the property colder than expected. The most common reasons for issues with air source heat pump (ASHP) installations—along with negative feedback—are typically the result of poor system design and substandard installation. By ensuring a thorough design and installation process, we can help avoid these problems and provide a solution that works efficiently for years to come.

As part of the process for securing the BUS grant, it is necessary to contact the District Network to verify that your property has sufficient power to run a heat pump. Additionally, noise level tests are conducted to assess the suitability of the unit’s location, and the hot water cylinder is properly sized to meet your household’s hot water requirements. Once all relevant information is gathered, we can provide an estimate of running costs based on the property’s specifics and the proposed system installation.

These units are net carbon zero, making them an excellent choice if your goal is to adopt a cleaner, greener energy solution. Installing a heat pump is one of the most effective ways to help you achieve sustainability goals while reducing your carbon footprint.

If you’re interested in exploring the benefits of an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installation, please get in touch. We can carry out a full system design to assess suitability and discuss how you could take advantage of the BUS grant.
